ביומו תתן שכרו: ((ככה זה נראה)) – אדם אחד מן הצפון עבד במשק חקלאי בדרום הארץ, לאחר שלוש שנים בערב יום הכפורים בקש מבעל המשק את שכרו, אמר לו בעל המשק שאין לו לשלם, חשב לעצמו הרי אני צריך לפרנס את אשתי וילדי, והרי הוא עשיר ויש לו רכוש רב, אבקש שיתן לי מרכושו או מאדמתו במקום כסף ואמכור וכך יהיה לי כסף לקנות אוכל לבני ביתי, בקש ממנו כרים וכסתות ואמר לו אין לי, בקש ממנו בהמות אמר לו אין לי, בקש ממנו פירות אמר לו אין לי, וכן כל דבר ודבר שבקש ממנו אמר לו אין לי, וחזר האיש לביתו מאוכזב וכיסו ריק !!! ((האם אתה מסוגל לדון מקרה כזה לכף זכות ?)) ((סוף הסיפור)) - לאחר חג הסוכות , נטל בעל הבית שכרו בידו, בתוספת פיצוי של אוכל ושתיה מרובים והלך לביתו של הפועל לשלם לו, נתן לו את מה שמגיע לו, וישבו ביחד לסעוד, וספר לו שבנו לא עסק בתורה ולכן הוא הקדיש את כל נכסיו לשמים כדי למנוע את בנו מלזכות בהם בירושה, והואיל וכל נכסיו היו מוקדשים לשמים לא יכל לשלם בהם, ולאחר מכן חכמים התירו לו את נדרו, וכעת הוא יכול לשלם.
